Maryland Cannabis Program
Medical cannabis will be available to certified patients in Maryland in 2017. According to the MMCC website, the Natalie M. LaPrade Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission is the governing body that “develops policies, procedures and regulations to implement programs that ensure medical cannabis is available to qualifying patients in a safe and effective manner. The Commission oversees all licensing, registration, inspection and testing measures pertaining to Maryland’s medical cannabis program and provides relevant program information to patients, physicians, growers, dispensers, processors, testing laboratories and caregivers.”
The MMCC has awarded licenses for business to grow, process and dispense medical cannabis in Maryland. The MMCC has a registry available online for physicians to register with the MMCC so they can recommend or certify patients for medical cannabis. The MMCC will also have a patient registry online in the upcoming months.
